iNEMI Unified Equipment Interaction Methodology Webinar
April 10, 2024 | iNEMIEstimated reading time: 1 minute
iNEMI’s Unified Equipment Interaction Methodology Project was a collaboration between manufacturers and equipment suppliers to validate the feasibility and ease of implementation of SEMI standards being developed as part of the SEMI North America Fab & Equipment Computer and Device Security Task Force (CDS). The project team evaluated the proposed implementation of draft SEMI standard 6926: Specification for Equipment Operator Access Management and Monitoring and provided iterative feedback to the SEMI Task Force to ensure what is being codified is implementable and sustainable in practice.
This webinar will report on the team’s proof-of-concept work, which focused primarily on how users interact with equipment on the factory floor, taking into consideration several aspects of the proposed standard, including authentication, authorization, logging, technology, recovery/failures, access control for equipment and interactions with users on the floor. The goal was to help establish a standard that makes those interactions uniform across vendors and equipment in order to, ultimately, reduce downtime, minimize errors, and increase overall productivity.
